Annticerpation was high as Jak and I drove down the narrow dirt road towards the clear still dam. At a first glance we were a little diserpionted about the ammount of Lillie pads around the edge of the dam, but once closer, we could find small openings. Once i was in my tackle box i realised i had done one of the stupidest things a fisherman could ever do. I fogot my Spinner Baits. I had all my surface lures, and a nice arrary of divers, so on went a mans 10+. I glanced to my right and seen jak with a Tilson Bass on, he cast, nothing, so i walked to the egde of the dam, sighted the place in which i would present my lure, flicked it out, clcik my Bass One into gear, three winds later, **BANG**, hook up, after a few runs low and into the lillie pads, i got in a nice 1lb bass. A great sign so ealry. Once it was realesed,i cast straight back just past the egde of the Lillie Pads, clicked the reeel back into gear,before i had a chance to wind i was on agian, same story, deep then into the Lillies and straight back out. This fish was nice 2lb. Once agian realised. This happened for the next 2 cast for me. 5 from 5. Thats pretty good! As for Jak he seen all the comotion and ecided to come over and fish next to me, he got fish his first 3 casts aswell. Then suddenly all went quite. Nothing. So we changed lures, I was no using a Rapahla lure, 2 cast later more fish, under 1lb, jak was using a Ploppy, and we bot h hooked up repeatedly, but after a few fish each, offthe bite agian. So i changed to a Koolerbug Lure, and Jak went to a Manns Lure agian. And yet agian more fish. SOme weird was going on. It was liek tyhe fish were getting sick of seeign the same lure around. The tripped proved to be very suefull, i discoved which lures work best a times, cought fish on lures which i have had for years, but never got a thing until then, and got a nice array for pic FACTS/INFO TIME- 3.00pm,5.30pm SEASON- Winter (not the best time for bass) LOCATION- Northern NSW | THIS MONTH! | ||||||||||||||||||
